Who are you?

Hello friends

First of all apologies for the delay, there has been so many things going on altogether in life that I just didn’t get time to pen down my thoughts. As most of you know that I’m in final year, and our college administration keeps on conducting GD and Interview seminars for us. Usually in these seminars a trainer would come and answer all the questions we have regarding interviews like ”What will they ask us?” “What should we reply when they ask to tell us about our positives or negative?” etc. Among these one of the most prominent question which almost 99% students had or have is , what to say when they say “TELL ME ABOUT YOURSELF”. This is one of the scariest questions for most of the fresher’s or anyone who is going to sit in an interview.

Now the worst part is that every trainer have a different opinion on how to answer this question, this makes it difficult for student to choose what to say and what not to. And many times opinion of one contradicts the other and students are like “what should we really say?” Two weeks ago we again had a similar session but the answer he gave us was different, different from what others ever told us. He said “I can tell what I’ll say when they ask me this question but I cannot say what you should tell. This is something that varies from person to person. Only you can tell who you really are.”

People even Google the answer to this question and I won’t deny that I haven’t but every time I read an answer my mind said “this is not you”.  The greatest irony is that we have the power to elect our government but we do not know who we are. If 8 years ago you would have asked me this question I couldn’t have spoken more than 4 or 5 lines. And those lines would probably be my name, my city, what my parents do and where I study that’s all. I remember I was in 9th class and there was this girl who asked me the same question and I couldn’t say much, it was then I realized that I don’t know who I’m.

If you would have asked me about my friend I would have spoken more than 20 sentences. Like seriously we are so busy judging other that we forget to think about ourselves. But thank fully now I can speak on who I’m because after that day I started introspecting to know myself. And today I know who I’m, what I want and what kind of person I’m. Five minutes of introspection not only helps you to identify yourself, but gives you a positive feeling, a feeling of peace.

Find your identity because after being twenty years old if you cannot define yourself, how can you expect people whom you met minutes or few years ago to define you. Last but not the least always remember that only you can define yourself better than anyone else.

So explore different sides of yourself and keep  introspecting.

Hope you people liked. Do let me know what you think about it.

Loads of love❤

Your right. How can others identify you if you are not even aware of your own identity?

  4. This really is a post (and question) that gets you thinking. I dread that question coming up in interviews, and although I know who I am professionally I don’t know that I could answer it personally.

I only discovered who I am in my 30s. It’s best do start doing the introspecting much earlier in life

  21. Yes I totally agree on what you said. We are really the one who can identify ourselves and no one else. Even if someone told you otherwise, what matters is what we believe on what we are deep within.

This is an interesting way to look at things. Depending on who asks the question, I’ve got many different answers I could possibly give.
