How to boost your confidence

Most of the people are not happy with the way they look due to some or the other reason may it be their hair, weight, or complexion. These all things highly effect the quality of life and often brings down your self-esteem which leads to low confidence.

Confidence is something we are born with but we eventually lose it due to others opinion or our own opinions on ourselves. It’s time to rediscover the lost confidence.

Here are a few ways to love yourself more and to be more confident:

  • Sit up straight.

For years my parents always said me to sit up straight now I understand why. It not only improves your body posture but also affects your self-esteem.  A person sitting up straight or standing is considered far more confident than a slouchy person.

  • Move it.

No matter how your body changes a little bit of workout always feels great. Try exercising daily for at least 20mins a day. You can go swimming, cycling, running, practice yoga or may be dancing anything that you like, try incorporating it in your daily life. It keeps you healthy, fit and brings a new energy making you more confident about self.

  • Change your hairstyle

It’s amazing how much a good hairstyle can affect your confidence. So switch on to a new refreshing hairstyle. You can cut your hair short, get curls if you have straight hair, go for straightening if u have curly hair, try a new braids or get highlights. Your new hair style will definitely bring in more confidence, and don’t be afraid to try something completely new.

  • Wardrobe makeover

New clothes are always refreshing. If you are wearing the same old boring clothes that make you feel drab, then it’s time to pick some new clothes. Try something which is chic and comfortable with some fabulous footwear. You can also incorporate some accessories from jewelry to scarf which ever gives you a more refreshing feel.

This will brighten your image and make you feel better. The better you feel, the more confident you are about yourself.

  • Practice self-care.

This is the most important factor that boosts you self-esteem. The more you love and take care of yourself the more you’ll improve. Treat yourself with warm soothing bath, body massage, look after your skin, relax and feel instantly more confident. Pampering yourself makes you feel good about your body and in turn you love yourself more.

  • Surround yourself with beauty and positivity.

Create a beautiful environment at home or in your workspace. It gives you confidence and a sense of peace. Keep your favorite flowers on your desk, play your favorite music while doing any work and decorate you room to feel happy. Surround yourself with positive people. They not only support you but make you feel good and confident about yourself.

  • Read up.

Reading good books helps boost our confidence in a number of ways. They shape our thinking, beliefs, attitudes, and expectations including our emotions, and judgments and makes us who we are. They change our perspective towards life and broaden our view of the world.

img6

  • Stop comparing yourself to others.

We often dwell on things we don’t have rather than appreciating things we are gifted with. We often compare ourselves with others making your own self feeling miserable. Rather than spending your energy on comparing yourself with others and wishing you were taller or shorter or fair or slim focus on things you have but they don’t it can be you beautiful eyes, your nature anything that makes you different from them and this will instantly make you feel confident about yourself and will save you from a hell lot of stress. Love yourself more and find what makes you unique.

  • Listen to your inner-self.

Talk to your inner-self and live your life accordingly. When you listen to your inner-self and live accordingly people will see the beautiful person you are. It will help you know who you are and what you want. You will learn to love yourself and fell confident in your own skin. So tap into your inner self by practicing mediation and live your life beautifully.

Such great tips! I found myself feeling very down and underwhelmed at the beginning of the year, but I finally picked myself up, got the long bob I’d been wanting for months, started going to the gym and even enrolled in a new dance class and guess what? My confidence is slowly but surely coming back! YAY!
